The Nigerian Association for Women’s Advancement (NAWA)
The Nigerian Association for Women’s Advancement (NAWA), registered in 1992, is a not for profit, Educational and Social Welfare Trust. Our first project, The Lagoon School was established in 1995. NAWA provides free business advisory services as well as mentoring sessions in all its projects which are geared towards capacity development of women of all age brackets.
The Lagoon School (Lagos), Zariba Women and Development Centre (Abuja), Ezindo (Enugu), Greendale Women and Girls Development Centre (Nsukka; Enugu State), Lagoon Institute for Hospitality Studies (Lagos), Elara Study Centre (Lagos), NAWA Afterschool Programmes for disadvantaged girls (Lagos, Abuja, Nsukka), Asterhall (Lagos).
NAWA believes that the education of women and girls enables them become self-supporting, provides them with access to equal opportunities in the labour market, professional growth and promotion of the dignity of work in the home through proper professional preparation.
To see every Nigerian woman equipped with an integral education enabling her play her unique role in the home, work place and the larger society.
